Etymology:
From Viking — a Scandinavian seafaring warrior known for exploration and general badassery — combined with Rescue Squad, the name of a 20th-century children’s toy set containing a fake grenade and a plastic knife with a working compass in the handle; adopted by one grown “adult” who realized this was, in hindsight, a perfect metaphor for (creative) life.
